After the escape of 12 years, the drug lord “El Chapo” alias “Shorty” has been apprehended. The Authorities said that “He was arrested from a seaside hotel-condominium tower in a bustling Mexican beach resort”.
Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman was notorious for escaping from high security jail custody in the year of 2001. The Authorities claim that he made to flee through Laundry cart and has been arrested on Saturday without exchanging a single fire. He was picked from Mazatlan in a joint operation being carried out by Mexican marines and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents. It has been learnt that the organization of Guzman was in a constant pressure of Mexican Authorities that went on apprehending and killing it’s most cruel and inhumane lieutenants.
General Jesus Murillo Karam “The Attorney General” revealed in a Mexico City news conference that Guzman was in a middle of 50s when authorities came close to apprehend. He further said, Guzman was taking the advantage of network of tunnels that were linked to Sewer system to make possible his escape.
Besides, he confirmed to media that his identity had already been verified by forensic authorities and we had recovered two grenade launchers, a rocket launcher, 97 large guns, and 36 handguns during the raid. On the other hand, a U.S based security official disclosed that Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigation played pivotal role in capturing the Guzman.
The Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto tweeted congratulation to its security forces and termed the arrest as historical success. On the contrary, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder termed this arrest as a victory of people of United States and Mexico.
Phil Jordan the former head of El Paso Intelligence Center feared that if he would not be extradited to United States, he would run away from the Mexican jail custody.
Guzman was supposed to be most wanted drug lord. He had killed and marred life of a big number of people through his drugs and considered to be preacher of “Corruption, Addiction, and Violence”. He and his cartel was famously involved in drug trafficking, money laundering, target killing, marijuana cocaine and heroin trafficking.
Once his arrest came into the limelight everyone started commenting on his captivity and displayed enough cherishment. Remember, he was declared by Forbes magazines as one of the highest influential personalities and Chicago’s city crime commission declared him Public Enemy No. 1.
